Kids really enjoy learning the pattern with 11x. Allow them the novelty of 'discovering' the pattern.
It can also help to talk to them about Place Value. 11x5 is the same as 10x5 and 1x5.
Point out that 11x10 is adding a zero.
11x11. The best strategy is to learn 11x10 and then add 11.
11 x 12
It can be presented as 10 x 12 + 12.
You might want to teach this as 12x12, take away 12.
